SUSHI RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
All ingredients can be purchased at Wegman’s.
Sushi Rice - Han Kuk Mi OR Nishiki
Nori Sheets (Seaweed)
Sushi Mat
Produce (Cucumber, Celery, Shredded Carrots, & Avocado)
Sushi Grade Salmon (Sushi Section)
Imitation Crab Meat
Sesame Seeds
INSTRUCTIONS
Cook sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool to room temperature.
With wet hands, spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori sheet.
Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the rice.
Place sushi mat on top of the sheet and flip over so the rice side is facing down on the bamboo mat. If you would like to make a roll with the seaweed on the outside, skip this step and simply place mat underneath nori sheet.
Arrange strips of crab meat, salmon, cucumber, and avocado (and any other of the above produce/seafood ingredients you wish) on the nori sheet about a 1/4 inch from the edge of the sheet.
Using the bamboo mat, roll the nori sheet tightly around the filling, applying gentle pressure as you roll away from you. Remember TUCK & ROLL. TUCK & ROLL.
Once rolled, use a sharp knife to slice the sushi roll into 6-8 pieces. Wipe the blade between each cut.
Serve the rolls with soy sauce, yum yum sauce, sweet chili sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi on the side for dipping. Enjoy your homemade sushi delights!
