Apple Crisp

Filling

  • 5 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for tart-sweet balance)

  • 2 Tbsp butter

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • 1/4 tsp ginger

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 2 Tbsp water

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Topping

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • ¼ cup flour

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

  • 3 Tbsp butter

  1. In a skillet, melt butter. Stir in oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

  2. Toast until golden and crisp (5–7 minutes).

  3. In another skillet, or same cleaned skillet - melt butter. Add sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, lemon juice, cornstarch and water.

  4. Cook until apples soften and sauce thickens (about 8–10 minutes).
